Charity single Everybody Hurts is set to be performed at the BRITs to maximise sales and increase funds raised for the victims of the Haiti earthquake. Organisers of the famed popular music event, which is being held in London on February 17th, have reorganised the line-up to make room for a performance organised by King of pop Simon Cowell. The cover of REM's 1993 hit is expected to raise a huge amount of money for the victims of the earthquake in Haiti, and looks set to meet the sensational success experienced by Live Aid's Feed The World.
Cowell has gathered a staggering number of talented individuals who are also some of the most important people in pop right now. This move guarantees high sales which in turn will add to earthquake charity funds. Amongst the performers taking part are Robbie Williams, Rod Stewart, Leona Lewis, Mariah Carey, James Blunt, Mika, James Morrison, Alexandra Burke, Kylie Minogue, Joe McElderry, Cheryl Cole, Miley Cyrus and Susan Boyle.
There eare also a few bands who are stepping up to take part namely Take That, Bon Jovi, Westlife and JLS. There are rumours that Cowell is desperate to get Sir Paul McCartney to appear on the Haiti charity single. The Official release date is February 8th 2010, and as REM manager Bertis Down is waiving royalties, all proceeds will go directly to the Helping Haiti fund.
